Format for the Tourament
The tournament will be four rounds. Two on Saturday at Easley and two Sunday at Seneca.
The first round in Easley on Saturday will be Best Shot. That’s the same format played in all the Upstate Doubles Leagues. The most popular form of doubles. The difference this time it is bring your own partner.
The second round in Easley on Saturday will be Best Disc. That’s where each player plays his or her own disc during the round. You take the best score per hole.
The first round in Seneca on Sunday will be Alternating Shot. That’s where you and your partner alternate shots during the round. If you make the putt, your partner drives the next hole.
The second round in Seneca on Sunday will be Best Shot.
We were considering playing a round of tough shot or worst shot but some players commented they thought that format would keep people away. Worst shot is where the opposing team decides which shot of yours and your partner play from. In worst shot both players must make the putt. In tough shot the rules are the same as in worst shot other than once a putt is made you are considered to be holed out. So both players don’t have to make the putt.
Maybe we’ll do that in 2009.
