I’ve started receiving some questions about the tournament. There seems to be a lot of excitment growing for the first ever SC Disc Golf Doubles State Championship!
There has been some concern over the alternating shot format Sunday morning at Seneca. I had wanted to include a round of tough shot or worst shot but was advised by several people to not do one of those formats.
We decided to go with a round of Best Shot (the type of double used in league play) at both courses - which means we will so some serious low scoring at least two rounds. The best disc format means you or your partner needs to play well on each hole. Which makes deciding how to play the hole if your partner throws first and gets into trouble, what should you do? Play it safe? Play it like you normally would or go for the ‘big’ shot to save the team?
The alternating shot will be interesting because your partner has to ecape from a bad lie based on your shot or the other way around. I’m looking forward to not just running the event but playing in the event.
