Got Poison Ivy?

Zanfel® Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac Wash is the only product clinically shown to remove the poison ivy toxin, urushiol, from the skin anytime after outbreak to the rash. Once the plant's toxin has been removed by Zanfel, itching stops in 30 seconds, and the body can begin the healing process.

For most mild to moderate cases of poison ivy, one application of Zanfel is adequate for each affected area. Zanfel works!!!

Zanfel Poison Ivy Wash can be found in the First Aid section of your local Pharmacy.

For more information about Zanfel, please visit www.zanfel.com, or call 1-800-401-4002.

Zanfel is proud to be a product sponsor of SC Doubles Disc Golf!

I plan on driving up from Columbia and three of the boys from Asheville are coming down to join me. Looking forward to a great time. Can you provide any additional details on the course? Layout? Amount of water in play? Opportunities to lose discs? Availability of carts? Will disc folders and ball folders share the course? Are any adult beverages available on site or even allowed? Thanks in advance for the response. Steve, Aka "Bobby" Boucher, representing old parts everywhere!!

James - on the side column under 2010 Registration is the 2010 form. Looks identical to the form from last year. You'll see at the top it says August 21-22 and the change of courses.

The formats have been changed since we did the registration form.

If you have the 2009 form, the pricing is the same, fill that out and send with a check and make a note its for 2010.

Thanks!

So I went and played Chattooga yesterday. The scenery is awesome and was fun to play. I really enjoyed holes 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, and 17. I lost a disc in the trees to the right on 7, but I found one so if anyone has lost one there let me know what it was and I will let you know if I found it. I lost a red and yellow Discraft Avenger SS with my name on it. Overall I would rate it a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale for difficulty. The only real challenge was length. There weren't many holes that required finess or touch, it was just grip it and rip it. I really hope the tee areas are smoothed out for the tournament, some of the footing was bad. It was extremely windy so you need good wind discs. They were mowing the "fairways" while we were there, they consisted of a single strip between tee to hole and not even that on some. They need to be mowed much wider, the grass/weeds is very thick. Heat is a major issue. I really hope there are some shade tents and water coolers set up on holes throughout the course. There is absolutley no shade anywhere on the course. It was so hot and the course was so long we were absolutely miserable by the end and the loop absolutely reeked of manure. I really think this course has potential, but it needs alot of work/maintenance. As it is now I would rank it third of the 4 courses I play, Walhalla 1, Seneca 2, and Clemson a distant 4th.

Danny - yes, there will be a one-day C-tier in Walhalla. While Chattooga Belle Farm is a long course, placement will still play a role as most basket positions have apple trees near by or a row of apple trees. Elevation is also an obstacle.

I look forward to seeing you in August.

Actually I enjoy Seneca as much as Walhalla. I thought that the combo of Seneca/Walhalla was almost a perfect compliment to one another. You had Walhalla, a shorter technical course with a few open holes, and then Seneca, a longer but still technical course. Most every shot last year needed to be how accurate you were, not how far can you throw. To score well, you had to be precise. I've not played the farm course yet, but will try to get up there and practice at least once before doubles. But from the pictures, it looked as though it was a bit more open, which will depend more on how your distance is. If the farm course is open, then you will have an open course, and a technical course, which should be a good combo.
Sadly, one of my favorite places to play is Walhalla, so I'm just sad to not be playing it, but there will be the Sept 18th tourney this year, so I'll just have to wait until then.
Thanks again for everything Adam....you really do a fantastic job!

Danny - Chattooga Belle Farm will be ready to play. They've been mowing this week and will keep the course mowed regularly. I think once you get a chance to see and play this course, you'll feel we made the right decision on playing day one at Chattooga Belle.

On the thoughts of Walhalla versus Seneca...I understand the feelings of Seneca and Walhalla. The Walhalla Park and Recreation do a fantastic job keeping the course in shape while GODG does a majority of the course work in Seneca. Seneca has given us close to $4,000 through tourism grants and sponsorship over the past three years. If we want to exclude playing in Seneca we will also will be doing much smaller players pack and funding of the tournament.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm also pretty disappointed that we will not be using Walhalla this year. I'm like Dave in the above post that I am excited about having a new course in the Upstate to go to, and I'm envious that there are so many now for the upstate club, but trying to get a brand new course ready in time for the doubles almost seems to not make sense. I know that we are still a month away, which does give plenty of time, but I guess that if the course does not get fully completed, we do have Walhalla to fall back on.
Thanks for all your hard work Adam, and no matter what I'll be playing!
