Please get registrations in soon if you would like to get a t-shirt in your size. All players will get t-shirt but it’s will be on a first come, first serve for teams not registered by the end of this week.
I’ve been hearing from several players looking for a partner for the tournament. I’ve have names and contact info on a couple of intermediate players and one pro player. Had an advanced player from Savannah call but didn’t leave any contact info.
Right now we’ve got 9 teams registered with two mixed teams, one advanced team and the rest in intermediate.
I’ve heard from a couple of pro teams but none are registered yet.
We’ve got 6 teams signed up. Five intermediate teams and one advanced team. No pro or mixed teams yet.
I’ve got a list of players looking for partners. One that says they’ll play advanced or pro and several intermediate players looking for partners.
I’ll be ordering t-shirts the first week in August. It would be nice to guarantee each player will get his/her size. I can only do that with early registration.
The tournament discs (JK Pro Avairs & KC Pro ROCs) are suppose to arrive tomorrow. Every player will get one of each…including pro players. Each disc will have a different tournament stamp. The players pack also will include two mini discs with different sponsor logos and the t-shirt.
Day one is in Long Creek at Chattooga Belle Farm with one round of Best Disc and one round of Best Shot. Day two will be in Seneca with one round of Alternate Shot and one round of Best Shot.
Chattooga Belle Farm is a pay-to-play course that is free until the tournament. Shaver Recreation Complex is currently in the long positions. The position of the baskets on the holes with multiple pin placements hasn’t been decided.
I look forward to seeing you in mid August.
We’re getting close to tournament time. Chattooga Belle Farm is free to play up until the tournament. After the tournament, the farm will cost $3.00 a round or you can buy a season pass for $25. If you haven’t played yet, you’ll want to get up there one of these next couple of weekends.
We’ve got registrations beginning to come in. Team Blowfly is coming for the third year in a row and we’ve got a team from Columbia and one from Clemson signed up. I was dropped by my partner from the last two years…I was able to rally and I have a new partner for 2010.
No pro registrations yet but I’ve heard rumors that the 2008 Champs are coming back…and I’ve also heard that the 2008 2nd place team will make it this year.
We’re limited to 36 teams. All players will get a Pro Avair and a Pro ROC with two mini discs and a t-shirt. To ensure you get the right size t-shirt, please get your registrations in. For those that are not registered by the first week in August, t-shirts will be first come, first served.
We’re four weeks away.
After having played Chattooga Belle Farm a half dozen times now, I’ve decided to revert back to the format(s)of the 2008 Doubles Championship. Chattooga Belle Farm, while not a difficult course, it is a long course. I don’t want to have the day last too long with a tough shot afternoon round in the August heat and a second day of play in Seneca. So day one at Chattooga Bell will be Best Shot and Best Disc. Day two will remain Alternate Shot and Best Shot in Seneca.
We’ll keep tough shot for the years that we play at Sertoma Field in Walhalla.
This past week’s been a banner week for lining up sponsors. Our new sponsors are…

Chattooga Belle Farm is ‘officially’ open as of today.
The course will be free to play up until the SC Doubles Championship. Following the tournament the course will cost $3.00 per round. Annual passes will be available in the store.
Please check their Happenings section on their website before traveling to Long Creek to play. When there’s an event scheduled in the event barn, the course will be closed. Their website is ChattoogaBelleFarm.com.
I ordered the discs for the player packs. Each player will receive a JK Pro Avair and a KC Pro ROC with tournament hot stamp along with two mini discs and a t-shirt. T-shirts will be ordered the first week in August. To ensure you get the right size t-shirt you’ll need to register by the first week in August.
I’ve been contacted by some players that are looking for partners. If you need a partner, drop me a line and I’ll try to get you in contact with someone to partner with.
Chattooga Belle Farm Disc Golf course design has been finalized. All that remains is for the tee markers to be put in the ground and some branches to be cut on holes 4, 11, and 15. The course isn’t officially open yet but you can play. If you go out to play, the transition from Hole 8 to hole 9 is a long one and the transition from hole 9 to 10 can be a bit confusing (you’ll pass the 14th tee on the way to hole 10) your first time through the course. Course signs will be placed soon to keep players on the right path.
We’re a little over a month away from this year’s edition of the South Carolina Disc Golf Doubles State Championship. An update registration form with the change of day one to Chattooga Belle Farm in Long Creek is in the side bar. Also on the side bar is a visual tour of the front nine and back nine at Chattooga Belle Farm. Chattooga Belle Farm went in the ground last Saturday and is playable now. The farm is not charging to play right now but that will change by August 1st. The official opening of the course is scheduled for August 1st.
We’re planning a GODG work day for the Seneca Course before the tournament. Seneca has seen some improvements since last year with several dead trees knocked down and removed along with improvements to the bridge between 15-16. Holes 9, 11 and 13 are more open due to trees being removed.
Registration is open. The PDGA hasn’t gotten the online registration set up yet. As soon as it is set up, I’ll post here and on several of the forums. If all the teams I’ve heard from through phone calls, emails and facebook end up playing like they’ve said, we should have a full event.
The PDGA has said we can go with three teams or six players per hole on a shotgun start if we want but I think that would slow play down and I don’t want to slow play. The only way we we’ll have three teams on one tee is if we end up with an odd number of mixed teams.
I’ve heard from a team in Savannah that is considering coming to the Golden Corner and I heard from some players from Augusta that say they may be bringing 5 teams. The 2008 Pro Champs have said they’re coming back after missing 2009 to take back their title.
I look forward to hearing from you.
